Masterplanning and Urban Design

We have an established pedigree in urban design and large scale master-planning. We are fully conversant with current and emerging best practice and Govermental guidance and our Clients have come to trust us to lead them in these matters as have many of the Planning authorities.

We focus not only on delivering a graphic masterplan but, more convincingly, assemble a “story”. This approach has proven to be compelling and effective and ultimately has led to us preparing the designs for one of the four short listed bids for the 2014 Commonwealth Village, (in collaboration with Holmes Partnership). We also continue to use this unique approach in Local Plan Policy representations supporting – something that is very valuable to our Clients.

There is growing legislative pressure to deliver public and private developments that show best practice in Urban Design and mixed use Master-planning.

Developers are increasingly required to provide a masterplanned Outline Planning submission that is beyond the ability of Planning Consultants to deliver on their own and they want to see the implementation of National Policy that moves away from the simplistic roads and “designless” sales led approach of suburban schemes and town centres in favour of creating environments that have character, a sense of place and support sustainable and safe communities.
